Founded in 1829 and is still 100% family owned today. 70% of grapes are from their own vineyard. Bollinger's history spans five generations of the same family. Their association with James Bond started 30 years ago between the Broccolis and the Bizots with the film Live and Let Die and has continued to the present day with the most recent film Casino Royale featuring the champagne "Grande Annee" in 1990.
The House of Bollinger owns 144 hectares of the finest crus in the heart of the Champagne region and unlike many other Champagne houses, provides over 60% of its grape needs. Only 25 - 30 villages (crus) are rigorously selected for the blends (assemblages) of which a minimum of 24 are classed growths, 10 grand cru and 14 premiers crus.
